The environmental agenda is a high priority across all industries, but according to the World Green Building Council the construction industry is responsible for 39% of carbon emissions globally, making it a critical priority for contractors. The industry has a target to reach net zero emissions by 2050 and an adoption of new ESG related obligations now. So what does ESG actually mean for the construction industry and how will it transition in order to meet its obligations? How will firms implement and manage ESG strategies and what new risks will this create. This workshop will explore the answer to these questions and also asses how the risk management function will become an integral part of an organisation’s ESG strategy, and what risk managers need to do in order to prepare.
