The battery energy storage system (BESS) industry is one of the fastest-growing markets as the source is deployed to support increased energy demand for the commercial power landscape. But as this new energy source relies on new technology it has become increasingly sophisticated and is subject to additional risks compared to typical construction projects which can lead to challenges with obtaining adequate insurance coverage. In this session we explore the cyber, safety and performance risks associated with end-to-end battery energy storage systems and the impact on the availability of obtaining insurance cover.
