The race to decarbonise our lives across multiple sectors creates anticipated and unanticipated hazards. The truth of risk management is that it is almost impossible to eliminate a risk, but merely change, substitute, retain or transfer it, which is where insurance comes in. The substitution of fossil fuels with various other alternatives poses challenges, some known and some unknown. We will deal specifically with the challenges posed by hydrogen and the expansion of it's use beyond an oil and gas industry byproduct into a mainstream fuel.
