2025 CONFERENCE OVERVIEW

According to current forecasts, the Asian construction industry in 2025 is expected to see steady growth, primarily driven by significant government investment in infrastructure projects, urbanization, and population growth, with Southeast Asia showing strong public project-led expansion.

Whilst prospects for growth within the Asia (and global) construction and infrastructure sector remains positive there are and will continue to be a significant number of existing and new challenges faced by firms in this sector. Climate risk remains one of the biggest short, medium and long term challenges in this region, inflation remains high in many economies and threats of recessions continue as does volatility in material prices.

Prolonged uncertainty continues to mount over tariffs on trade which could dramatically impact already strained supply chains and in order to meet the sustainability challenges access to and the use of new materials in the pursuit of meeting net-zero goals present some unknown risks. And perhaps the biggest immediate concern is the chronic labour shortage

which threatens to destabilise the ability for the industry to achieve its growth potential.

To meet these challenges and risks, construction contractors and project owners are placing an ever greater emphasis on the governance of risk management across their businesses. Budgets continue to shift, risk management functions continue to gain more prominence and influence within their organisations and risk financing and risk transfer strategies are changing.

The 3rd year of the Construction Risk Management Asia Conference 2025 will bring together senior risk leaders from contractors and project owners, insurers, brokers and other service industry firms for a packed day of dynamic debate and analysis to explore how firms are adapting their approach to risk, changes to risk strategies and how the role of risk leaders is evolving in the effort to manage and mitigate existing and new threats.
