Saudi Arabia has recently been announced as the host nation for the 2034 Football World Cup and in total 11 new stadiums will be built with three already under construction. In addition, the country's two current largest stadiums will be renovated, while two further existing stadiums will be temporarily expanded for the tournament.

This project will require thousands of workforce. With a background of an industry recognised for its poor health and safety record and a demanding construction timetable, achieving excellent health and safety performance will represent a challenge. This session will explore the key risk management issues related to health and safety during sophisticated major stadium build projects.
