The success of the Middle East's ambitious infrastructure pipeline depends on resilient global supply chains. From structural steel, cement and electrical equipment to transformers, semiconductors, HVAC systems and specialist mechanical and electrical components, today's construction projects rely on complex international procurement networks that remain vulnerable to geopolitical instability, shipping disruption, trade restrictions and manufacturing bottlenecks. Recent events – including disruption in the Red Sea, heightened regional tensions following the Iran conflict and continuing shifts in global trade policy – have demonstrated how quickly supply chain failures can affect project schedules, costs and insurance exposures. This panel will explore how project owners, contractors and insurers are strengthening supply chain resilience through improved procurement strategies, supplier diversification, enhanced visibility across critical supply chains, contractual risk allocation and more effective insurance solutions. Panellists will also discuss how organisations can better anticipate disruptions, reduce Delay in Start-Up (DSU) exposures and build greater resilience into the delivery of the region's most important infrastructure projects.
