The World Economic Forum’s (WEF) latest Global Risks Report highlights that environmental risks such as extreme weather and critical change to Earth systems, as well as biodiversity loss and ecosystem collapse, continue to dominate the longer-term risk outlook. The WEF’s latest report, based on a survey of 1,500 global risks experts, policy makers and industry leaders also reveals a pessimistic outlook for the world over the next two years that only worsens when looking further ahead.
In this keynote address John Scott, Head of Sustainability and Risk, Zurich Insurance Group will identify the key ESG-related findings from this year’s report and explain how collective and coordinated cross-border actions as well as localised strategies will be critical for reducing the impact of global risks.
