Presentation & panel discussion: Captives

Onshore captives in Europe are taking off, with France leading the way. But the UK is hoping to follow suit, with interest also growing in Italy, Spain and Germany, while Lloyd’s is now open to captives. Growth is expected from new captives and redomiciliations, with the captive concept opening up to a broader range of organisations, including those previously unsure about an overseas subsidiary, state-owned enterprises, and those concerned by reputational issues.

This session will look at the success of the French captive regulations, and provide an overview of the onshore trend in Europe. And it will provide an update on the latest developments in the UK and the push for captive legislation.

  • What does this mean for the European captive market?
  • Will competition increase amongst European domiciles or will it just mean a bigger cake?
  • What type of companies will be suited to the new domiciles?
  • What are the benefits and challenges?
