Name
Presentation & panel discussion: Claims
Description
Claims handling under a multinational programme needs particular attention, with numerous issues to consider including the extent to which claims are handled locally or centrally, and the actual payment and receipt of claims, including collecting claims data globally and the value of claims reporting and analysis. This session will explore cross-border legal and regulatory considerations associated with handling claims occurring in one jurisdiction which may be covered by a master policy issued in another jurisdiction, including the effects of:
- Difference-in-conditions / Difference-in-limits coverage
- Financial interest clauses
- Cross-border claims - adjustment
- Cross-border claims - payers and recipients
- Non-admitted constraints and potential regulatory and tax risk to insurers and insureds
- Delivery of claims information
- Utilising claims data for loss prevention and insurance purchasing
