Panel discussion: The future of construction risk & insurance in Asia
Description

The Asian construction industry is expected to see a continuation of steady growth driven by significant government investment in infrastructure projects, urbanisation, and population growth. Whilst prospects for the region remains positive there are a significant number of challenges faced by firms in this sector such as climate risk, inflation, and the chronic labour shortage. To meet these challenges contractors and developers are placing an ever greater emphasis on the governance of risk management across their businesses. Budgets continue to shift, risk management functions continue to gain more prominence and influence and risk financing and risk transfer strategies are changing.

Changing market conditions are also impacting the insurance industry with rising claims costs, inflation pressures and increased competition as insurers aim to capture market share and meet premium targets. The insurance industry also has its own crisis for recruiting and retaining talent.

In this session a panel of senior executives from contractors, developers and the insurance markets will discuss what’s next for the industry and where are we heading.
