At Aon, which he joined in 2021, Willem served as Industry Director Energy before transitioning into his current role as a Renewables Insurance Specialist. He holds a master’s degree in biotechnology from the University of Groningen. Willem entered the insurance industry at the beginning of the millennium, working initially in marketing and sales before moving into technical lines. There, he managed a major international construction portfolio servicing onshore and offshore contractors, later establishing risk and control protocols at a specialised submarine cable engineering firm before moving to his current tenure at Aon.
