Description

ESG and the wider matter of sustainability is now firmly entrenched on the corporate agenda and, whether you agree with it or not, it is not going away as core matters such as greenwashing, supply chain due diligence and deforestation find their way onto statute books worldwide.

This session will tackle the core questions:

  • Is ESG a positive thing from a risk management perspective and why?
  • What role could and should the risk manager play in ESG/sustainability?
  • How can ESG be used to improve the risk profile and reduce exposures?
  • How could and should the corporation’s ESG/sustainability credentials be best communicated and accusations of greenwashing avoided?
  • What are the main regional and international standards that PARIMA members need to look out for?
  • What new exposures are created by the rise of ESG and how to manage these? What are the insurance implications?
  • What information on ESG are insurers asking for and why?
  • Are they crediting good ESG performance with improved terms and conditions and if not why not? How could and should this be improved?
  • How can the captive be used to improve your company’s ESG performance and again secure improved terms and conditions?
