Volker had his Legal Training in Germany and in the US (Bonn University and College of Law The Ohio State University) and is a qualified lawyer in Germany. He has 22 years of experience with Allianz working in international and complex claims in the corporate area. Since July 2013 Volker has been based in Singapore, first as the Regional Head of Claims for Long Tail Lines Asia Pacific being responsible for Liability, Financial Lines and Aviation claims for the entire region.

In July 2020 he was the Regional Head of Claims for Asia Pacific at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty and in January 2024, he assumed the role of Regional Head of Claims Asia, Allianz Commercial. Before joining the Singapore office, he was responsible for Liability claims in the Head Office in Munich handling claims around the world with special emphasis on the US market.
