Steve FowlerA graduate in chemistry from Oxford University, Steve’s early career was spent as a risk engineer. Steve subsequently served as Chief Information Officer and Business Transformation Director at the insurer, RSA. This was followed by twelve years as CEO at the Institute of Risk Management, achieving ten-fold growth and an international reputation. Today, Steve is in demand as a speaker, author and very 'hands on' trainer and advisor bringing what can be very technical subjects to life with lots of practical examples. Steve is actively involved with several risk, safety and health organisations and is a Governor at the award-winning University of West London where he also chairs the Audit and Risk Committee.

Jo PaisleyJo Paisley is President of the GARP Risk Institute (GRI), the thought leadership arm of the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). Set up in early 2018, the Institute works across all risk disciplines, with Jo’s focus to date on climate and nature risk management and scenario analysis, stress testing and operational resilience. Her career began at the Bank of England where she worked in a variety of roles, across macroeconomics, statistics, supervision and risk. Her last role was as a Director of the Supervisory Risk Specialists Division within the Prudential Regulation Authority, where she was heavily involved in the design and execution of the UK’s first concurrent stress test in 2014. She left the Bank in 2015 and joined HSBC as their Global Head of Stress Testing.

Tom ThornberryTom started his career at Zurich in 2011, working in Financial Lines Underwriting. Moving to claims a year later, he worked within the UK Financial Lines team and completed his legal qualifications whilst seconded to DAC Beachcroft. In 2015, he participated in a two-year secondment supporting the Global Head of Financial Lines Claims before returning to the UK and helping create the Financial Lines Claims ‘centre of excellence’. In 2018 Tom headed up Zurich’s UK Construction Claims team. During his tenure, he was heavily involved in Zurich’s Property response to the Covid-19 crisis. In November 2020, Tom was appointed Global Head of Financial Lines Claims for Zurich, with responsibility for all aspects of Financial Lines Claims, Credit Lines, and Cyber across Zurich globally.
