In December 2022, Global Captive Media launched Captive Intelligence to meet the growing demand for credible and relevant news and analysis of the global captive insurance market.

Nick joined Lloyd’s in 2022 from PwC, where he was a Director leading technology-based transformations for specialty insurers, MGAs and brokers. Previously Nick worked at RSA plc in a variety of roles including strategic planning, global portfolio management and latterly leading Sales & Client Management for RSA's Global Risks business in the London Market and across Europe. Previously he spent seven years as a strategy consultant with Booz & Company, advising life insurers, commercial & investment banks and wealth managers. Nick also worked at BBC New Media, where he was part of the team that set up the Radio Player, the precursor to the BBC’s iPlayer.

His responsibilities also include leading the underwriting unit for foreign produced U.S. admitted risks, Defense Base Act product and the International Underwriting Center.
Prior to this role, David has been in roles of increasing responsibility at CNA. Most recently serving as the AVP, International Product Leader, David was responsible for international sales and distribution, worked very closely with the BU International leaders on key trading partnerships and the international broker networks. David also led the project with our international colleagues and partners to develop and document good local standard products that will be used for our global solutions.

David Halperin is Deputy General Counsel at AIG. In this capacity, he oversees the Legal function for the AIG Multinational business, working with regional and country counsel and other stakeholders around the world.

Dave and his team provide guidance on complex cross-border multinational insurance placements, advising on legal, regulatory and tax matters in jurisdictions around the world. In addition to his role as lead counsel for AIG Multinational, he also serves as General Counsel for AIG’s Latin America operations, oversees subsidiary governance matters, and leads the Legal support for AIG’s risk engineering and consulting function.

Dave has been supporting AIG Multinational for nearly twenty years, and has had many other responsibilities in his career at AIG as well. He joined AIG in 2001 as Assistant General Counsel of Risk Management. Dave earned a B.A. from Colgate University and a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law.

Previously, he spent ten years at WTW in Alternative Risk Transfer, specializing in parametric solutions for weather risk. He then served as Head of Business Development at OTT Risk, a parametric insurtech, driving new business and product structuring.
Matthew has extensive experience in (re)insurance, with a focus on innovation in climate, agriculture, and micro-insurance. He holds an Investment Management Certificate, an Advanced Certificate from the Chartered Insurance Institute, and a B.A. in Politics from Durham University.
